Dr Jeevithan Sabanathan is a consultant gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and interventional endoscopist with a passion for quality endoscopy and patient-centred care.

Dr Sabanathan graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2009, obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2016, and an Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA) in 2021.

Dr Sabanathan is currently engaged as a Staff Specialist in Gastroenterology at the Logan and Beaudesert Hospitals and is a Senior Lecturer in Medicine at both The University of Queensland and Griffith University.

Dr Sabanathan has extensive expertise in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, double balloon small bowel enteroscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of the gastrointestinal tract. He is actively involved in endoscopic training and supervision of junior doctors through the Logan Hospital.

Dr Sabanathan has a significant interest in research and has submitted to both national and international conferences. His special interests include small bowel pathology and identification and resection of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon.
