Open Access Procedures

There is a very strict criteria for Open Access admissions, and a phone triage interview is required, as you will not have a pre-procedure consultation with a Gastroenterologist.

Open Access is designed specifically for patients who require colonoscopy or endoscopy for specific reasons as detailed by your GP:

  • Asymptomatic individuals with positive fecal occult blood test results, e.g., National Bowel Cancer Screening, Rotary Screening, etc.
  • Asymptomatic individuals with a family history of bowel cancer.
  • Patients with stable esophageal reflux who require screening for Barrett's esophagus.
  • Patients who are otherwise fit and well, aged between 16 to 80 And BMI > 45 would be only scoped after approval from the proceduralist and the anesthesist.
